History of Bods
‘Bods’ are descended from the many dwarfs and elven who came across from Scandinavia between 800 AD and 1000 AD with the Vikings. When Britain was invaded, they stowed away on the boats and then spread and settled all over the islands. Some stayed together retaining their Viking and wizardry identities and started their own little enclave in Bodrighy Wood on Bodmin Moor in Cornwall, others over time moved in with humans mimicking the roles and characters of their larger hosts unlike the native little people such as the leprechauns of Ireland, the tylwyth teg of Wales or piskies of Cornwall Compared to the mischievous and sometimes aggressive nature of the indigenous little people, bods are relatively benign One strange characteristic is that they are all born with facial hair, both male and female each one developing very individual characteristics making every one unique. They are extremely shy normally and this has resulted in them being possibly the least known of the little people.
ADOPTION AGENCY

Alfhild is a traditional Viking Bod except his ancestors always lived in the mountains. After many years on Bodmin Moor, he is looking to move into a family that at least has some hills he can climb. He realises that with such little legs he might need some help but he lives in hope that he can be adopted by someone who likes climbing and will take him with them.

Meya has learned that his ancestors were royalty in the old days when in Scandinavia and though much of his history may have been made up after a few drops of the local brew by his parents he has decided that it is true and so carved himself a little throne from a log he found on the moor. He realises that he is perhaps a better maker of weapons than furniture and is hoping he will be adopted by someone who can make him a much better throne, more suitable for his status.

Bernard has been living over a butcher’s shop for some time. Unfortunately for him the family he lives with are almost vegetarian so he doesn't get much chance to be like his heroes in the shop downstairs. He has learned to make sausages and that is all so far. He would love to be adopted by a family that really know what to do with meat and he is really keen to learn how to do chops, steaks and things.

DELBERT
Delbert is not a traditional Bod and has always loved human music. He has decided to make himself a set of drums but hasn’t really got the hang of it and so (perhaps fortunately) has yet to make any real noise. He does want to learn and is looking to find a home with proper cymbals and drums and someone to teach him how to use them. His heroes are the country rock bands who he hopes to be able to emulate one day

Benny's real name is Benjamin but he has always been called Benny though he would prefer to be called Benjamin after one of his heroes, the poet Benjamin Zephaniah. He has always liked the kind of music that he has heard humans playing and would love to be a part of a band if he could. He is hoping that he will be able to find some likeminded humans and possibly Bods through the Agency. In the meantime, he has made himself a drum and will keep practicing.

BABA
Baba once crept up to a cottage on the Moor and through the window watched something that changed his life forever. He saw an African drummer called Babtunde playing a djembe, and he fell in love with the rhythms. The other Bods were horrified at his rejection of his traditional Bod name (Jakob) and made it clear he stopped his nonsense or left the Moor. He had heard of the Adoption Agency so he decided to find a new home where he could follow his heart

For many years Flo has put plasters on the Vikings scratches and dealing with wizards who got their spells wrong. She has had enough and wants to do some proper nursing
