Used as with the kumihino dosc but more sophiticated these have no indexed slots and can be used for far more complex braids. The dipped centre is as in the traditional desgns used in Japan. The one illustrated stands approx 18" high and has a disc of  10" with a central hole of 1.5". Woods will vary as each is hand made to order. 

Please note these will be shipped unassembled with a small pot of appropriate glue for self construction e.g. the top, base and four legs as min images

 These are the bobbins  used with the marudai. Traditionally made from clay and  not specific weights as such. The ones I make are wooden and I cannot guarantee an exact weight due to the material. Dimensions of the basic ones are 35mm dia x 40mm long  Weight will inevitably depend on the wood but tends to be in the range of 30 - 35grams each.  Price will vary for a bulk order. A traditional tool used in Japan for making braids. These are made in 62 mm diameter with 32 slots. They will be made to order from a solid piece of hardwood

  These can be made in various sizes but unless otherwise requested they are made between 2" -3" diameter (50mm - 80mm) from a locally sourced wood., Sanded smooth but not polished as any finish is likely to come off on the material being darned.  

 These are made in various woods and have either hand made lampwork beads or wood ones. They are loosely based on the style of the Japanese inros worn with the obi. They will accept most needles upp to darning needle size.  

 These are all custom made from a suitable wood and are shipped to you in three sections. This is to facilitate postage. A small portion of suitable glue is included for you to attach yourself. Size can vary according to need but cost will remain the same unless you want something that is very different or an unusually large size. Unless otherwse stated the niddy noddy will create skeins 1 yard long e.g. 15" (38mm) between bearers 

 These are made from a suitable hard wood and are finished by sanding to a smooth finish. Oil or polish wears off and can come off onto the yarn. They are 12" (31mm) long unless otherwise requested and are made to order. 

 These are made to order and are made in a suitable hard wood. They can be made in a different style to the ones shown if required. These are approx. 120mm long

 These are made from various woods and have an industrial strength magnet buried in the tip. Perfect for those pins, needles etc that get dropped onto the floor or behind the cushion. Much better than finding them in the carpet with bare feet. When ordering I will send a picture of the ones I have in stock as they sell quickly so the images here are examples only. I make them approximately 10" - 12" (25 - 30cm) long but if required longer please let me know when purchasing. 

 An alternative to a pin cushion, these little bowls all have an industrial magnet inserted into the base. Keeps pins, needles etc safe on your work top. . The ones shown are examples as they sell quickly so I will send pictures of the ones I have in stock when you order for you to choose from. Dimensions average 3 - 4 inch diameter. 

 These are made from various woods and the style and size will be the same but the wood might may be different to the one displayed. . They stand approx. 4.5" (115mm) tall and will accommodate a small pair of scissors.
