Broche (SPINDLE STYLE)

 This is an ancient, traditional tool used manly with gold thread. The one displayed  measures 10" (255mm( long but as I make these to order I can make them any size required. They come in many different shapes and sizes, I have just three for sale but am open to suggestions if anyone would like something different made 

Broche (Square)

 This brioche is a traditional tool for laying gold or other metal thread in embroidery. The slot is 1mm so should be suitable for all but the thickest threads. I make these out of various hard woods and whilst this one measures 4" (100 mm) by 1 1/2" (400mm) as I make them to order I can adjust size to suit. 

Broche (TRIANGLE)

 This broche is a traditional tool for laying gold or other metal thread in embroidery. The slot is 1mm so should be suitable for all but the thickest threads. I make these out of various hard woods and whilst this one measures 6.5" (160 mm) but as I make them to order I can adjust size to suit. 

Couronne Stick

 Used in hebedo embroidery these are in 5mm steps from 5mm - 20mm and are used to make flowers, rings etc in the Danish style 'habedo' embroidery. Hand made from locally sourced woods. If different dimension sections are required please contact me. 

Half Cone Sticks

£17.50 Each

 

These are also called 'Embroidery shoes' As they are made to order, you will need to let me know the dimensions required e.g. length and diameter of the cone. The three basic shapes as shown are the ones that you will recieve unless you direct otherwise re 5mm, 10mm and 15mm. . They are all made from sustainable hardwoods and may not be exactly like the ones displayed which are walnut. I sand them to a smooth finish in order to avoid any snags etc.

Trumpet Sticks

£17.50 Each

 

These are made to order and I will need you to tell me what dimensions your require e.g. length and diameter of the 'trumpet' section. They are made from various sustainable hardwoods and may look different to the ones displayed which are in walnut

Koma

£12.50 a Pair

 

These little tools are used i traditional japanese embroidery to weigh the threads, much the same as the bobbins in lace or tapestry. They are all made from various hardwoods and measure approx. 2 1/2 inches (6 1/2 cm) long by 1 1/4 inches (3 1/4 cm) wide. 

Price is for a pair. If only one or more than a pair is required contact me to arrange cost.

Stiletto

£12.50

 These are made to size according to the order. They are used to manipulate stitching in embroidery and other needle crafts. Often made from metal I make them in a polished hard wood they are light weight to use 

Tekobari

£20

 Used with flat silk in working traditional Japanese embroidery, these can be made to whatever size is required and may be plain or as shown with beaded decoration. They are usually made in steel but I have been reliably informed that they are as efective if made from a finely sanded hard wood. they are both a lovely addition to your collection of traditional tools and a useful item to have in your collection 

Thread Spools

£20

 Possibly a fore runner of the modern cotton treel they are used to store thread. As simple as that. I make them to all sorts of designs but unless you wish a particular size and / or decoration they will be pretty much as shown hereThey can be made to any size you wish, the ones shown are 9" long.
