This is a larger pair of goblets that would be ideal for the beer or the wine drinker who doesn't want to have to keep topping up. This goblet is based on the designs of those used at the medieval banquets. It is made of oak and has 6 jasper cabochons around the rim. It measures 8" tall (225mm) and has a diameter of 3" (75mm) inside. Plenty large enough to hold a decent amount of the beverage of your choice. Finished with a food safe lacquer it is suitable for drinking most liquids and is waterproof and alchohol reststant.
A ladies goblet I believe. Somehow it has that feminine touch and would be ideal for white or red wine. It is 6 3/4" (170mm) tall with an inside diameter of 3 1/4" (80mm) It has been finished with a food safe lacquer that is waterproof and alchohol resistant.
This is a good chunky goblet made from spalted field maple, a cousin of the sycamore family. it measures 7 3/4" (195mm) and has an inside diameter of 4 1/2" (115mm) making it a good size for beer or ales of any type. It is finished with a food safe lacquer that renders it waterproof and alcohol resistant.
Traditionally these cups would have been made for communal use with a number of smaller vessels for individual drinking. The drink would be based on apple juice, cider but enhanced with a variety of spirits and spices. The little cup on the top of the finial was use to hold and measure the spices. The originals would probably be made of lignum vitae, a wood no longer available commercially. The inside has been coated with a lacquer to render it usable.
